Lifestyle | Little Amsterdam

Hi!

What better way to brighten up my day than a text from my sister asking if Mr C and I want to go and eat pancakes! I couldn't type ''yes we would LOVE too'' fast enough!

I had driven by Little Amsterdam lots of times, hoping that Mr C would take me but, as he doesn't like pancakes I eventually gave up all hope until I received the magic text.

We went on a Sunday around midday, there were only two people in there when we sat down, my sister had already booked a table as she advised that it does get extremely busy. I always take that as good sign so that made me even more excited for what was to come!

Now that main item on the menu are pancakes, sweet and savoury. I've only ever tried sweet pancakes so trying to get my head around a savoury pancake was a new experience. I still wasn't sure after looking at the menu so, my sister said that I could share her savoury pancake. I ended up ordering the meatballs with carrot and onion mash, my sister ordered a pancake with bacon and peppers and Mr C opted for the sausages with sauerkraut mash. We added a side of fries along with some dutch mayonnaise, now this made me very happy because, I love german mayo, if you haven't tried it I would highly recommend. It's thick like hellmans but, slightly darker and has a bit of sweetness to it. It is just so tasty!

There was a wait for the food, which is always fine by me, I dislike when food comes out too quickly. It was worth it though. My meatballs, although not the prettiest things on the plate tasted so so so good, the meat was so juicy, hot and full of flavour. The carrot and onion mash was a nice accompaniment to the meatballs. I also had a small pot of gravy to the side, it was really thick and the only thing I didn't really enjoy, it didn't have a strong flavour so didn't overpower the meatballs, however I think it was just the texture I didn't enjoy.

I tried the savoury pancake and it was different, I wasn't sold on it the first time but, I would definitely try one for myself. I tried a bit of Mr Cs meal as well, if I could have a huge plate with the sausages, meatballs and both types of mash, that would have been absolute heaven!

Now, of course I couldn't leave without having a sweet pancake, even though I was so full after the meatballs! I'm not going to say much about the pancake except it was perfect! Lemon, sugar and a huge pancake, ahhhhh! I sampled some of Mr Cs passion fruit gelato, which was so delicious.

Overall I couldn't really fault anything, it was all cooked perfectly, the service was excellent and I'm already planning my next visit!

Lifestyle | A Late New Year

Hi,

This is so late but, Happy New Year! It been over 8 weeks since my last post, this was intentional. The last 4-5 months of 2017 were extremely stressful, a lot was going in all aspects of my life so, just before Christmas I decided that I would take a break from blogging until I was ready to start again.

It's only in the last year or so that I have taken breaks from blogging, I always used to feel so guilty but, then I realised that it was affecting my posts. I would just be writing for the sake of it, most of the time it was forced because I felt that I had to get something out. I love blogging but, as its not a source of income for me I had to remind myself that it was okay to put it on the back burner and come back to it when I was ready.

During my blogging break I've read more blogs, discovered new ones, read books, caught up on a lot of my favourite Netflix shows and spent a lot of time with Mr C.

The result is that I feel better for it and have lots of ideas buzzing around in my head. The pictures on this post are the first ones I'd taken since December and I was super happy to be back in front of the camera, can you tell!
