Style | Random Denim

Thursday, 6 April 2017 | No comments

Hi!

I saw the lovely Dani Vanier rocking the double denim look recently. I feel like it's one of those trends or looks that either works or it doesn't but she pulled it off with her usual effortless chic style.

I knew I wanted to give it a go when I bought a denim shirt from New Look recently. It was a really random purchase, I wasn't going shopping for anything (like I always do!) but ended up bringing this shirt and a dress home with me.

I ended up really liking how it looked with my jeggings so, after we went shopping, we stopped by home quickly, picked up the camera and went to my favourite spot to take a few pictures!

Still in love with these shoes!

What do you think of double denim?

Style | SS17 at intuMK - A visit to Rush Hair

Tuesday, 4 April 2017 | No comments

Hi!,

Last week I wrote about my evening with intu for their SS 17 event. You can read the post here. Tonight is all about my fourth task.

Rush hair is now situated in intu MK. I'm always keen to find hairdressers that can do afro hair, so this was an ideal opportunity to find out more and to also do my task!

As you walk in there is a wall full of products for every type of hair, a part of me wanted to pick up everything and be nosy but I resisted!

The salon is located upstairs. I had no idea what to expect so when I got to the last step I was pleasantly surprised!

How gorgeous is this salon, it's actually the nicest one I've ever been in. It's so neat, clean and had a luxurious feel to it. The salon is open late in the evenings as well so it's ideal for an after work cut or blow dry.

Anyway, back to the task. We had to chat to a member of the team about must have hair products which would keep our locks glossy and shiny all season.

For me it was recommended that I try a Brazilian blow dry as my main problem was frizzy hair, especially with the warmer weather on the way (yes, I'm optimistic), I only have go in the heat for a few seconds and my hair goes so frizzy!

If you haven't heard of a Brazilian blow dry then here is a short explanation! It is a treatment that uses Keratin to smooth the hair cuticle making the hair appear smooth, straight and frizz free! Hair is washed first of all and then once it has dried the treatment is applied to sections of the hair, dried and then heat sealed using straighteners. Depending on the length of your hair it can take between 1.5 - 3 hours to complete. It will last up to 3 months if you use the correct products to maintain it.

This was great to find an alternative treatment to relaxer, the main treatment used for afro hair.

Afterwards I headed downstairs to find out more about the products especially ones for my dry, fizzy hair.

The Kerastase range is one that I have heard so many good things about but I have never tried anything from it. They do a whole range of products for different hair types. As my hair is very dry, coarse and frizzy it was recommended that I try the discipline range, its specifically for unruly hair, which mine definitely is without a doubt! Now if I didn't go for the Brazilian blow dry I would use these products along with regular blow drys to keep my hair looking fabulous all summer long!

I also received a goodie bag (thank you to Rush MK) before I left. I'm going to give the mask and oil a try and then do a review on here very soon!

You can find your nearest Rush Salon here.

Much Love
