Style | Outside my comfort zone

Recently I have been updating my wardrobe for the last of the summer months and also preparing for autumn, which is my favourite season. I have been tending to reach for black, blue and white items so, when I saw this dress, I thought it would add a really nice pop of colour in amongst all the solids.

This floral print dress was so far out of my comfort zone! However, I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it on. The floral pattern against the white makes for a beautiful contrast, I would normally have just gone for black but there was something much more appealing about the white. The dress is slightly see through so you need to wear a little top and shorts or a slip underneath. The V neck is also quite deep so, if like me you are not comfortable with low cut clothing, just add a thin vest top underneath and it still works perfectly.

I've worn this twice so far and I absolutely love it. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that the weather improves so I can get more wear out of it before summer is over!

Style | Loving Lovedrobe

Its been a long time since I've worn an outfit that makes me feel so good. I've been guilty of wearing the same outfits on repeat, I do this quite a lot when I'm feeling tired and not my usual self. I wore trousers 3 days in a row the other week which is very unsual for me.

When Lovedrobe kindly gifted me this top it got me quite excited about my wardrobe again. I paired it with an old skirt from Tu at Sainsburys. It was the perfect smart casual pairing for a Saturday morning breakfast.

I sized up to a 26 in this top as I wanted a loose comfortable fit but I could have easily gone for a 24 and got the same effect. My favourite part of the top is the lace detailing at the top. You can see my bra straps underneath (I don't own a strapless bra), but this doesn't bother me at all. The ruffle under the lace adds another element of texture to the top. I haven't got anything like this in my wardrobe so I'm excited to style it in different ways.

The top is a great length as well, just skimming over my bum and hitting the top of my thighs. I will be styling it another way so have a look out for a post on that soon!
