Snow..oh no!

So has anyone else had enough of the snow yet!? It looks so pretty from the window but for anyone that has to commute anywhere...nightmare! I was fortunate enough not to have had to travel when it was at its worst but I felt sorry for my partner and anyyone else that had to :o(
This is a quick picture of what it looked like from our window!

So last week I did a post on some beauty products that I purchased, just to recap here is a picture of the items.

After one week I can already say that I am really pleased with these purchases.
The Garnier body lotion has been great for my super dry skin. I liked the fact that it wasn't greasy when I put it on and it absorbed into my skin really fast, I get so annoyed when you have to stand for ages rubbing in body lotion!
The face wash is a great product especially at such a bargin price! I only had one spot on my chin after using it, I find that sometimes when I use a new facewash I get breakouts but this time I didn't. I wouldn't use it on a daily basis but maybe once or twice a week.
Finally the face cream, now this is a product I don't need to write much about as in my last post I already said that how much I loved it when I had used it previously and once again it didn't fail to dissapoint!
I tend to use it on its own with just a bit of clear mascara and of course plenty of lip gloss!

This is my first outfit of the day post. I absolutley love looking at OOTD on instagram, they give me a lot of ideas and inspiration for my outfits.

This is one my favourite outfits at the moment, simple and smart.
The cardigan is from Forever 21, at first when I saw it I thought, is it too much which was very odd for me as even though I am a plus size I always like to take a risk with colour and prints.
The scarf which also doubles as a pashmina I picked up from a french market that was being held in our town one saturday, at £5 i thought it was bargin as well as a gorgeous colour!
My jeans are from new look, in most of my OOTD posts you will see me wearing jeans and always dark denim, i rarely wear light denim as to me i feel it emphasises my thighs way too much!

I also added this beautiful bracelet which was from a local boutique, one of my favourite bracelets in my collection
I hope you enjoyed my first OOTD, i will be posting one every week!

So today I wanted to do a review on a couple of random products that I purchased last week.

I had an appointment in the lovely town of Thame last week so I decided to see what the local shops had to offer! I was plesantly suprised by the superdrug in the town, now I feel I can say this as compared to my local one it was bright, a good size and the shop assistant didn't look like she wished she was somewhere else!

First of all I must say I rarely use own brand cleansers, I have been using Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Facewash, unfortunately as nice as this product looks it doesn't seem to be agreeing with my skin. Prior to this I had used Johnsons Clean and Clear Wash for years as it kept my skin beautifully soft and clean but I always like to try something new inbetween.
Many years ago my skincare routine was about 20 minutes long, I would go into an utter panic if the items I was currently using were about to run out. Nowadays it's fairly simple and to some it may sound awful but I cleanse every other day and just splash my face with cold water on the other days. Ughh I hear some of you say but I have been doing this for quite a few years now and get one or two spots every couple of months so it can't be too bad!

In the store I picked up the Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser. Now, I had read a lot about facewashes that came with the muslin cloth, to me it just seemed a bit odd, I mean why not just use soap and a flannel?? Anyway this time I thought that I would give it a go, and at £2.99 I felt that if it didn't work I wouldn't have wasted too much money. I haven't tried it as yet but will be giving it a go from tonight and the rest of the week.

The next item that I bought was the Naturally Radiant Radiance Balm 50ml, a bit of a mouthfull especially when you say it when you are tired, like me the other night it came out as Naturally Radiant Radiator Balm! he he.

I have used this product before, but it was years ago, I then stopped for some reason and tried Clarins Flash Balm. I love this balm, I really believe it works, it give me a smooth glowy complexion and I look refreshed (or so I hope!). This is one that I would definately recommend to friends, family and anyone that was unsure about buying it.

The last item that I bought was the Garnier 7 day body lotion. Now i'm a girl that swears by two body lotions, Johnsons Baby Lotion and Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Cream. Recently though the baby lotion hasn't been enough so I bought the Garnier to replace it as my daily lotion (I only use cocoa butter once a week as the one I use is quite thick and heavy). Again, I haven't started using it yet but I will be from tomorrow and then after a week I shall do another review and let you know how I get on. I hope it works as my skin is drier than the sahara desert and flakier than flaky pastry!

Much Love

Lips.... that's what i'm talking about today! They are my favourite part of my body so i always make sure they are soft and covered in some pretty gloss!

I'm going to to do a review about some products that I purchased in the sales. In Debenhams I bought some Lancome juicy tubes, these have been a long term favourite of mine. I have always just stuck to one colour so decided to get these mini glosses to try in some different colours.

I also got some lip balms from Burts Bees, this is a brand that I had heard a lot about but had never tried anything. It was around £6 for two lip balms (these were the ones that I was holding when I got the 'evil' glares from the woman shopping!). They both have a nice subtle hint of colour but they are super soft on my lips and the packaging is so lovely which is always a bonus with me! The two colours that I got were Hibiscus which is a really soft pink and Red Dahlia/Dahlia Rouge a subtle red tone.

The final two products I got were from the MAC counter. I have always been a big fan of the lipglass as I find it stays on well and has never dissapointed me so far! The colour that I always use is called 'spite'. The two new colours I bought were oversexed which is a dark shimmery purple and strictly plutonic which is a lovely peach colour.

For an everyday gloss my absolute favourite is the 'Missguided lipsplash'. I think that I got it ages ago on the front of a magazine and thought that I would give it a try. Well its one of the best neutral lip glosses I have tried in a long time, it goes on smoothly, its not sticky and lasts for ages, perfect! The one I have is due to run out soon so i must try and find some more!

To keep my lips in good condition i have always used either petroleum jelly or chapstick at night. Occasionally I also put the petroleum jelly on and then scrub with a (new) clean and dry toothbrush which I find works great as an inexpensive scrub.

For my everyday look I use MAC lipliner in Cork mixed with a Lancome Juicy tube in either Toffee or Chilled.

Ok, i'm off to find another Missguided Lipsplash!

Post Christmas sales..normally I would be so excited to go but this year i actually had second thoughts, the horrendous queues and having my patience tested over the christmas shopping period made me want to hibernate until summer.
Anyway on boxing day my partner and I decided to go to Milton Keynes, I had made myself a list the night before of items that I really wanted to find so i didn't get too carried away. We got there nice and early, i had my 'shopping outfit' on, felt really good a little bit excited when i saw that it wasn't too busy, game on i thought!
First shop we went into and after 10 minutes i was done, when I say that it was busy was a total understatement, i had one woman giving me evil stares as i clasped my hands tightly around the last burts bees lipbalm set...eek! There were also plenty of sightings of shopping rage, like road rage but without the car, who knew that shopping could become so stressful and so, dare i say it,dangerous!
Nevertheless I managed to get my very first Burts Bees product to try and also some of my favourite lipgloss, Lancome Juicy Tubes.
Afterwards we wondered around for another half an hour but failed miserably. I could not find anything else that I wanted from my list. Great for my purse but not for my mood.
I haven't been back to the shops since that day, from then on I have stuck to 'cyber shopping'.
Did anyone else have the same issues with shopping or was i just extremely unlucky?!

I will be doing a review of the products that I purchase in next post so watch this space

Happy new year! New year, new me?

So Christmas is now over and we have made it into 2013 yay! I for one am very happy to see 2013, last year was a very difficult year but I'm ready to put that behind me and start afresh.

I have made a few New Years resolutions which I'm really hoping I can stick to, I won't share them all with you but here are a few of them:

1. Do more stuff I love - this is one thing that I have done already by starting this blog. I also want to spend more time on the hobbies that I really enjoy such as crafting, knitting and gardening. These are all things I didn't get to do much of last year so I want to ignite my passion for all them this year.

2. Get out of my comfort zone - by this I mean that instead of just reading the books I know I will enjoy (chick lit) I want to read some classics and some other stuff that I wouldn't even dare to read let alone look at the cover! I also want to watch some of those 'classic' films and go to places that I see in magazines but am too lazy to look into booking!

3. Get healthy - now I know that everyone says this year every year and blah blah but for me it's more important than ever this year to get myself into shape. I spent most of last year quite ill and going in and out of hospital. This year I'm determined take better care of myself as being so ill scared me about the lifestyle that I had be living.

I haven't told anyone else about my other goals as I know that as soon as I do I will never get there!

Have you made any resolutions or goals for 2013?

Much love
