Sunday Sunday here again!

Blurghh.....that is the only way that I can describe how I feel today.

Its been quite a busy week, I managed to complete my task of an early spring clean and getting the house in order before I start my new job (super excited!). I'm really happy that I got this done as being disorganised doesn't help with my stress levels. I think I went a little over the top with organising Mr C's T-shirt drawer, the look on his face was priceless....ranging from 'uhh she has too much time on her hands' to 'how will I ever keep it looking like this'!

I also became the owner of a nice new shiny Iphone 5 this week. It will take some getting used to, I'm not the easiest person when it comes to change, my iphone 4 is still here with me until I feel I can let it go.

On Friday I woke up with a huge urge to go shopping. I gave Mr C my most pitiful hangdog face and lo and behold within an hour we were on our way to sunny High Wycombe!

Now as its nearly spring I thought this would be perfect to add a few bits to my wardrobe in preparation. In my head I had visions of having a nice quiet cosy lunch first, then finding some make up that I have been desperately searching for and seeing at least 5 bags full of pretty shiny new clothes in Mr C's hands (he's a gentleman and always carries my bags!!).

Cue bubble bursting this is actually what happened (shortened because I could actually write a book about the day itself).

Arrive at HW car park, drive around for 20+ minutes to find the perfect parking spot.
Go into shopping centre and can't remember where Primark is.
Politely tell Mr C that I need lunch NOW or I will faint.
Spend 1/2 hour wondering into at least 5 different restaurants, each one had nothing less than a 15 minute wait (I was impatient and v v v hungry!).
Finally sit down for food and then wait 45 minutes for our light bites to come out.
Walk outside and almost freeze to the spot. Leaving home I saw the sun, now it was bitterly cold and snowing. I am not wearing suitable winter clothing!
Plod around the shops, no makeup found, bought of jumpers in Primark and nothing remotely spring like!

Now as you can see my little vision was an EPIC Fail. This only means one thing though, in a few weeks time I will have to persuade Mr C that we must go shopping again to get all the things that I didn't get this time around!

Anyway here are a few pics of the items that I bought in Primark, I got quite a few bits on sale which I was really pleased about.

Much Love

Just a quick OOTD post.

This is my casual look for a sunday at home. If I want to to be super comfy then I will swap my jeans for some joggers! The jeans are from New Look and the hoodie is from Gap.

Hope you are all having a lovely sunday! I'm going to catch up on Gossip Girl. I only started watching it last week and am enjoying it so far!

Pancake Day! Yum Yum

Tuesday, 12 February 2013 | No comments

Pancake day is here! It won't be the same for me this year though as, due to my diet, I will not be letting one of my favourite foods pass my lips *sad face*.
I hope that you have all enjoyed eating them today. When I can have pancakes I like mine simple with just sugar and lemon or fresh strawberries.
Now, after eating those pancakes you still want to look good, so here are a few tips for how to use my favourite toppings along with some products to make beauty treatments!

My favourite treatment is Vaseline and sugar!
This can be used for a variety of things such as:
Lip Scrub  - Vaseline and Sugar mixed together.
Hand Scrub - Same as above but if you add in some lemon this will brighten your nails
Foot Scrub - Add a little extra sugar to remove the hard skin from your feet. To give your feet an extra treat, rub Vaseline on after the treatment, pop some socks on overnight and voila in the morning you will have lovely soft feet!
For your face you can use a plain face wash and add some sugar to it to make it into a cleansing scrub. Then, to sooth your skin, use a mixture of strawberries and oatmeal to make a gorgeous smelling and moisturising face mask.

If you are prone to oily skin, use an egg white mixed with strawberries to absorb the oil in your skin.
A nice treat in the shower would be to mix your favourite shower gel with some sugar and you will be left with silky smooth skin!
If you are unsure about any of these treatments just try a little patch of skin first.

Will you be my Valentine???

Monday, 11 February 2013 | No comments

Valentines day is fast approaching! I can never decide if I want to celebrate it or not. This year I have become slightly anti-valentines. I think the reason is that I have spent so much time at home, and therefore seen pretty much every valentines advert on the TV and Internet, that it has slightly lost its sparkle for me this year.

At the weekend I had a quick look at some things that reminded of previous Valentines to give me that loving feeling back, so I thought that I would post a few pics to show you some of my favourite 'love themed' items!

The diamond in the final picture is not real unfortunately! But if you are lucky enough to receive one on Thursday, I hope its as pretty as this one :o)

Have a good Valentine's Day, whatever you do.

TDT, what is this I hear you say! Well it means TRIM DOWN THURSDAY. I have decided to do a series of posts about my weight loss journey.

Now I know that people will say that they have heard this all before but I personally like reading about other peoples weight loss and how they achieved it, mainly for inspiration and also to keep me motivated.

I never try and set myself a date for when I am going to start a diet, normally it's always the night before and I will just randomly turn to my partner and announce that 'tomorrow' we will start eating healthy!

Since being very ill last year I had gained a lot of weight and as we are due to go on holiday this year I want to be able to wear a swimming cossie and not have to cover up under something when I go down to the pool area

I do have a fair amount of weight to lose, around the 6 stone mark but I think that if I do it slowly I will keep it off this time.

A few years ago I lost around 4 stone on the Weight Watchers diet. I felt great for losing that much but it did come at a price, I became absolutely obsessed with losing weight, I would go to the gym every other day, cycle to work, do a workout DVD every evening. It got to the point that if I put on a pound my day would be ruined. Along with the exercise I also took slimming pills (bought from a shop) and virtually starved myself at weekends.

The turning point came when I split up with my ex and healthy eating went out the window, most people can't eat when they break up but I am the complete opposite and can eat for England during any stressful time in my life.

So that's my intro about my weight loss woes so far, hopefully next week I will have a some good news to share!

January Favourites!

Tuesday, 5 February 2013 | No comments

Wow so now that January is over will the rest of 2013 go by so quickly!
I thought about my new year resolutions at the weekend and have surprised myself that I have managed to stick to more than two of them! Hurrah.
Although I am yet to start on the fitness goal, that will be this week. I always feel that if you start all of your resolutions or goals at once you are less likely to stick to them!
Today I wanted to share some of my January favourites with you. I love reading and watching about this topic so thought I would give it a go and do one myself
Firstly my beauty favs (and yes a candle managed to sneak in there somehow!)
First of all is a hair care item, Cantu shea butter for the hair is a hair dress for afro/dry hair. This stuff is fantastic!! I use it once I dried my to about 80% and then put about 2x 50p size dollops and rub from the roots to the ends of my hair and then finish drying, the result, shiny soft and sweet smelling hair! Now I dont think thats it available in the uk as this one was purchased in the USA but if it was here I would buy it by the bucketloads!
For the body i have been loving the Imperial Leather citrus burst shower gel,the lime and kiwi extract have that perfect wake up smell to get me out of my sleepy stupor in the morning. Also another item that I have really liked is the garnier body intensive 7 day lotion for dry/rough skin. Since I have been using it my skin has been less flaky and dry and not left feeling greasy. I did a review for it on my last post Mini Skincare Haul Review
The perfume is Sean John - Unforgivable Woman. Now when I first saw this it had been reduced in price quite considerably so i was a bit dubious but after the first sniff I was in love! It has quite a strong scent but not too overpowering for the day. I'm really rubbish when it comes to describing scents, lets just say that I wear day/night and even if I'm not leaving the house I will just put on one squirt as thats how much I love the smell!
Mac bronzing powder has been another must have for me during the cold months. Normally I would have a little glow still after a late holiday but last year we didn't get a chance to go anywhere so I was left with a lovely grey pallor (yes even with my brown skin!) that left me looking like i was ready to audition for a Twilight movie. This bronzer leaves with a subtle shimmery glow that I would have got if I had been in Barbados for 2 weeks
I have started using a old favourite once again ...good old Vaseline. As you can see in the picture my tub has seen better days. I use it on my lips, cuticles, elbows, heels and sometimes even on my hair to keep the pesky hairs right at the front slicked down.
The Burts Bees lip balm, another lip product to add to my collection. It really moisterises my lips whilst leaving a subtle hint of colour and I just love the packaging.
Last but not lease is the Lavender Vanilla candle by Yankee Candle. Ive had this candle for a good couple of years but only actually starting lighting it around the end of december. I always find that even if you don't light a Yankee Candle they give off a subtle scent. This one has just a slight hint of lavender as I feel that the vanilla scent really comes through but it is really relaxing and leaves the bedroom smelling gorgeous.
The second picture just shows some of my non beauty favourites. I am just starting the Twilight book even though I have seen the film a hundred times! Also one my favourite tv shows, Lipstick Jungle, why oh why did it have to get cancelled! My supersoft ruffle scarf and last of all a small cross stitch to sit and do on these cold winter evenings.
Did you have any January favourites?
Much Love
