A Very (Late) Merry Christmas!

Tuesday, 31 December 2013 | 1 comment

Hi!

I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas! I certainly did, in fact I didn't want Christmas day to be over for a change.

Mr C and I spent the day with my family, there were 15 of us which meant that it was a very busy but fun day!

I wore this claret lace dress from Pinkclove. This was my first choice for my Christmas party before I tried on the black and red one. I'm so please I chose this for Christmas day. It was so comfortable that I kept it on all day, normally I like to change by the afternoon. I teamed it with my favourite F21 leggings and some chunky boots from Clarks as we walked round to my brothers house.

Here are a few photos from the day.

I also received some fabulous gifts this year including a nice shiny new kindle!

Did you get anything nice for Christmas?

Party Time!

Monday, 30 December 2013 | 6 comments

Hi!

We had our works Christmas party a few weeks ago so I thought I would do a quick post on my dress.

I had an absolute nightmare trying to find a dress, I can't even tell you how many I tried on. On Thursday I placed a quick order with Pinkclove as they have a sale on at the moment.

I ordered four dresses and a jacket, I think it would about £60 in total which I thought was quite reasonable. Anyway after telling Mr C how much I spent, I also told him that I would only keep one and send the rest back (cough cough!).

I will show the other dresses in another post because as soon as I tried them on I knew I wouldn't be sending anything back...whoops!

Here is what I wore:

I loved this dress as soon as I tried it on. I sized up so that I would be comfortable during the evening.

The top is a gorgeous silky material which was nice and thick and stayed in place all night (along with the help of a good bra). The skirt part was super comfortable and had plenty of stretch in it, always good after eating a 3 course meal!

I'm so glad I ordered it now, I felt amazing in it all night!

Sorry for the not so great photos, I took this a few days later as I didn't get home until 1.30am and my feet and knees were aching as I once I was on the dance floor I seemed to believe my name was Beyoncé!

Much Love

The Home Tag

Sunday, 29 December 2013 | No comments

Hi!

So it's been a few months now since we moved home so I thought it would be perfect to do the 'Home Tag'! I saw this on SoTotallyVlog YouTube channel, you can watch it here.

Do you live at home, alone or with roommates?

I live with my fiancé , Mr C!

Do you shop a lot for your room/place? If so what are your favourite home-ware stores?

As much I like to shop for clothes I love shopping for house items. My favourite shop is Homesense, there are lots of unique pieces in there and at affordable prices. I also love Dunelm and The Range but some of the best bargains we have are either from car boots or secondhand shops!

Are you a neat or messy person?

Super neat, I can stand mess or clutter in the house.

Is there a specific decorative item/thing you can't live without in your room/house/place?

Cushions, I do love big, soft comfy cushions especially on the sofa.

Show your favourite home décor items, show and tell style!

Here are a few pictures of my favourite items in our house!

I tag everyone who reads this to take part!

Much Love

Hi!

Welcome to this week's OMZC challenge.

This week it was the turn of the lovely Hollie at Pretty Big Butterflies.

Date Due:  Wednesday, 18th December
Challenge: "Work Wear"

Hollie wrote:

"Work wear is so boring and I have to spend 9 hours a day in an office! Show me how to spice up work wear in whatever way you can. I want to look smart / casual but still fashionable! It's so easy to hide behind a desk but I want to walk through the office in style. Come on ladies, show me your sexy secretary look or your quirky call centre attire!

Can't wait for the inspiration! :)"

I'm looking forward to this one, I'm in office wear for about 15 hours a day and travel on public transport so work wear ideas are always welcome.

If you don't work or don't have a 9-5 job, or wear a uniform you don't want to blog why not use your imagination maybe dress for the job you had, want, or what you wanted to be when you grew up!

Mine could be PJ's I fancy a new career as a slumberland bed tester!

This is one of my current favourite work outfits. The top is one that I picked up from Primark about 2 years ago, I really wish that I had bought it in the other colours. I love the way it splits at the back, something a little different for the work!

Don't forget to check out the other lovely ladies taking part!

Ebay Excitement

Monday, 16 December 2013 | 3 comments

Hi!

I had never used Ebay until last year. I was completely clueless about how it all worked until Mr C sat me down one evening and showed me....big mistake!

I usually go on once or twice a week and look for stuff. Recently I have been looking for tunics or dresses to wear with my leggings. My wardrobe was bursting with jeans and to be honest I was getting pretty bored of wearing them.

I went on a few weeks ago and saw this dress, it was from New Look and had only worn a couple of times, it was £13 including P&P.

I love the flower print on it, normally I would go for a plain colour but this time I fancied a bit of colour. The fabric has an almost woollen texture to it so it will work well in this cold weather and the length will be perfect for me to wear with my leggings and boots!

Here is how I styled it when I went out for Sunday lunch!

Do you shop on Ebay?

I Feel Good

Sunday, 15 December 2013 | 1 comment

Hi!

Time for the next I Feel Good challenge.

"You know sometimes when you spend ages getting ready for a night out, an event or even just a blog post, and the reflection in mirror isn't what you hoped?  This challenge is for those times when you look in the mirror, no pre planning involved, and think "I look good today".
We all have our good days and our bad, but this challenge is to record those good days and to remember that confidence, at any size, is beautiful.

This photo was taken a few hours after my operation this year. Even though I was in a horrible hospital gown, no makeup and messy hair I felt good because the part of my being ill was over after nearly 2 years of agony!

A Weekend Away

Thursday, 12 December 2013 | 1 comment

Hi!

A few weeks ago Mr C and I booked the Thursday and Friday off work to make a nice long weekend.

Thursday was super busy with having new carpets fitted but then we decided to go for lunch and watch the new Hunger Games movie, which had a very odd ending! That evening we decided that we would pack a suitcase and head off somewhere for one maybe two nights the following morning!

So Friday morning we get up nice and early and head to Gloucester. I had read about Gloucester Quays and wanted to see what it was like. After an hour we were there, at first we couldn't get into the car park which nearly made us turn around, luckily we persevered and they finally opened it up!

Gloucester quays isn't very big, if it wasn't for the fact that there was a wonderful Victorian Christmas market there I would have been very disappointed that we had driven all that way for a handful of shops. Anyway we still had a good look around and bought a few things, mainly for the house. We hadn't even booked a hotel for the night so after shopping we quickly went online to find somewhere to stay. We ended up at the Holiday Inn Express which was fine for one night.

Over dinner we decided to go somewhere else the next day, it was a bit of a debate whether we should go to Nottingham or down to Bournemouth. In the end we decided to go to Cardiff, only an hour away from Gloucester.

So after a good nights sleep we set off for Cardiff the next morning. We parked and went into St Davids Shopping Centre, all I can say is WOW! so many shops, it was like shopping heaven!! We spent a good 5 hours wondering around, I didn't buy too much as it was so busy but I did manage to get into the E.L.F store and pick up a few bits (i'll show on another post). After a quick dinner in Prezzo we decided not to drive home and find another hotel to stay in! This proved rather difficult this time as the first 4 we tried were fully booked. In the end we found a Premier Inn on the outskirts of town and got our heads down for the night!

The next morning was the long drive home with a quick stop in Bath and some lovely food at Tollgate Teahouse!

In all it was a wonderful weekend, very random and something that we will definitely be doing next year but where should we go?!

Another Dress!?

Tuesday, 10 December 2013 | 2 comments

Hi!

Yes I purchased another dress! If you read my earlier in the year you may have noticed the lack of pictures of me wearing skirts/dresses. After having a bit of a rubbish year and putting on some weight I was lacking confidence and hid in trousers and jeans all the time.

Since I have been blogging I noticed that a lot of the lovely ladies I follow wear skirts and dresses without a care in the world and they all look fabulous! This has inspired me to purchase a few more dresses and skirts.

This is another one that I purchased from Asda. The geometric print is normally something I would shy away from but I wanted something a little different this time.

I wore it to work this week and I LOVE it!  The length was just right for me , teamed with my leggings and short boots it was the perfect outfit!

OMCZ #21

Saturday, 7 December 2013 | 2 comments

Hi!

Sorry I'm so late posting this week, life has gone crazy busy recently and I haven't had much time to blog but hopefully all will be back to normal once Christmas is over!

This week's theme was chosen by Rebecca from The Plus Side of Me. Here is what she wrote:

Rebecca wrote:

"I know it's best sometimes to keep things simple, but I've recently been thinking about how fun it would be to emulate another blogger's style that is very much so out of our comfort zone. It could be a blogger within or outside of the the OMCZ group, but I know there are plenty of bloggers out there whose style I love but have not dared to wear."

All best!

The blogger who's style I admire most at the moment is the lovely Danielle Vanier. Her style is very unique and she isn't afraid to mix prints, colours and her make up is always flawless especially the red lip look!

I am wearing animal print trousers from Sorrento clothing, boots from New Look, jacket from Yours and scarf from Primark.

7 year itch....no thanks!

Friday, 6 December 2013 | 4 comments

Hi!

On the 5th of November Mr C and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary since our first date. How time flies hey! Even after all this time I still love as much as I did at the start!

Ok enough soppy stuff now!

We had planned to do something special this year seeing last November we celebrated with me being in hospital, our romantic dinner for two was some wonderful hospital food!

This year Mr C took me to local Turkish Restaurant for dinner. It was amazing! The food is wonderful here and the staff are so friendly. We have been once before and this time was as good as the first.

I decided to wear my new dress that I picked up from Asda. There was only a 20 left in this dress, I was a bit dubious at first as I normally size up in dresses but I'm glad I went for this one. The material is sooo soft, it feels like im wrapped in the most cosiest blanket. The length is a little bit shorter than what I would normally go for but with knee high boots it doesn't feel so bad.  I also love the fact that its long sleeved, all the dresses that I have seen/purchased recently are all short sleeved.

Here are a few pictures of my outfit and dinner!
