Hi!

It's been a awhile since I last wore this jacket. I don't wear very often because whenever I wear white I get so dirty!

Jacket - Old New Look
Top - Gap
Jeans - Yours

I wore this for a lunch date with Mr C and I managed to stay clean!

Burger for Mr C and homemade chicken pie for me! Yum

Garden time

Wednesday, 25 June 2014 | No comments

Hi!

Just a quick  post about the garden today!

I went to Lidl recently and found these plant pot thingymajigs! Technical gardening term there, I expect Monty Don to ring soon and ask to use that on Gardeners World Live!

This is super easy gardening, pop some nice compost in the pot, I used John Innes no 3. Then take the top off, place the packing with the bulbs on top of the compost, put some more compost on top and water.

Hopefully in a few weeks some shoots will start popping up!

I also went to a local nursey and picked up quite a few bits. It's always nice finding a small garden centre, this one doesn't advertise or have a fancy building so they are able to keep the price of the plants low.

The shrub in the back corner was green a few weeks ago! I had a lovely surprise one morning when I opened the curtains to see that it has bloomed!

Skin Care

Monday, 23 June 2014 | 1 comment

Hi!

Many moons ago when I was a mere youngster my skin was ok, I rarely got spots, it wasn't too oily and I didn't bother with makeup unless I was going out. Going into my 20s, my skin got worse for some reason, I ended up with really bad scarring from spots, which got so bad I used to spend more than half an hour every morning piling on the concealer and foundation to cover everything.

I eventually had microdermabrasion which got rid of a lot of the scars but it is very expensive at £60 a facial every two weeks for 3 months and then once a month for another 3 months (luckily I was still living at home at this point!)

Now I'm into my thirties my skin has gone on a downward spiral again. I seem to wake up with a new spot every other morning which is really annoying. I have decided to really have go at sticking to a skincare regime and also try some new products.

Here is what I am going to be using.

I am going to give this a go and report back in two weeks. Hopefully with some good results!

Do you have any skincare favourites? Have you tried any of these products?

Shop My Stash #3

Saturday, 21 June 2014 | 1 comment

Hi!

Welcome to the Shop Your Stash Challenge. This is all about finding a gem in what you already own and creating a blog post on it. This is to let go a little of the stress that comes with being a blogger - even if it is just once a month. Rummage through your beauty products and climb through those clothes draws. You might surprise yourself!

The World Cup, three short words that make most women with a football loving partner groan inside. The premier league has only just fizzled off our screen and then more football appears.

I always have a little moan at the beginning but then I find myself getting into it more and more, even though England are now out I will still force myself to watch men in tight shirts run around!

On Thursday night during the England game I found myself alone in the house with nothing to do, so, I decided to put on the football and enjoy some much needed pampering time. I decided to delve into my 'beauty' drawer and see what items I hadn't used yet and give them a try!

Nivea Face Wipes - I really like using face wipes. As I don't wear a lot of make up I find that they cleanse my skin and don't leave any make up residue. I normally use the Garnier face wipes as they are excellent at removing mascara. These Nivea ones really impressed me, they were not too wet as I find with some other brands. I don't really like feel of the cleanser on my face after I use a wipe, it usually makes me face feel sticky and I normally end up washing my face again.

They removed all my make up and left my skin feeling soft and cleaned, no need for extra cleansing.

This Elemis face mask sample was one that came in the British Beauty Blogger Box last year. I completely forgot about it and it has sat in my beauty drawer since then. I was slightly apprehensive about using it as the back of the tube had the words "tingling sensation" on it. I'm always afraid that the tingling will turn into burning or something!

Anyway it turns out that I was wrong, it did tingle but only slightly. The cooling effect of the gel on my face was welcome after a hot day. I left it on for 10 minutes and that was perfect. My skin felt incredible afterwards, clear, glowing and thoroughly cleansed. The mask also had that luxurious spa like smell which I love. I may have to see how much this is full size and possibly purchase some!

This was the Melvita Body Cream. Another great product. I'm really fussy when it comes to body lotions, I have to moisturise head to toe every day so its important for me to have a lotion that will rub in quickly and leave my skin soft all day. I find that some creams will leave my skin feeling wonderful in the morning and then, by the end of the day it's all dry again.

The Neom hand cream was good, it didn't blow me away but that's probably because I always use Nivea hand cream and nothing else has been better than that.... yet!

I then put some of the serum (the tiny bottle in the picture) on. This stuff is good, really good. I thought my skin felt good after the mask but then I put this on and my skin was super smooth. The next morning it still looked good despite a lack of sleep.

The only product that I didn't use was the Rosehip oil but that's because I got too engrossed in watching England lose!

OMCZ #34

Wednesday, 18 June 2014 | 1 comment

Hi!

Time for another OMCZ challenge! This week the theme was chosen by Katt.

Theme - "Show me some skin"

As summer approaches and the days get warmer, I'm struck with the fear of getting my pasty white legs and the tops of my arms out. Apart from the obvious rudey parts, what areas of your body do you prefer to keep covered? Ladies, show me those white bits!

Katt xo

So here I am getting my arms and a bit of my legs out!

This is one of my favourite dresses from Primark. My mum actually choose it for me as I was a bit unsure about it, now I wish they would make it again for this summer!

Oh and I'm looking at the grass you can't see that is in desperate need of a mow!

I Feel Good

Sunday, 15 June 2014 | 2 comments

Hi!

Time for the next I Feel Good challenge.

"You know sometimes when you spend ages getting ready for a night out, an event or even just a blog post, and the reflection in mirror isn't what you hoped?  This challenge is for those times when you look in the mirror, no pre planning involved, and think "I look good today".
We all have our good days and our bad, but this challenge is to record those good days and to remember that confidence, at any size, is beautiful.

Green for Go!

Saturday, 14 June 2014 | 3 comments

Hi!

A few weeks ago Mr C and I enjoyed a day out to Leamington Spa, on the way home we decided to drive through Warwick.

It was a beautiful sunny day so I decided to wear this dress from Peacocks. It had been sat in the wardrobe for months and I was a bit scared to wear it because of the colour (also because of the rubbish weather!)

Dress - Peacocks
Cardigan - Gap
Belt - Forever 21

Unfortunately because I've been a bad blogger this dress is no longer available on line but they do have lots of other lovely dresses up to a size 20 and 22 in a few styles. You can also find a similar colour dress here.

A very sunny Warwick!

Simply Be Dress

Thursday, 12 June 2014 | 2 comments

Hi!

So one afternoon I was relaxing reading blogs, putting my feet up, you know how it goes and then I see Leah (Just Me Leah) looking all gorgeous and summery in the cutest dress!

It didn't take me long to decide that I needed this dress in my wardrobe so I quickly placed an order and a few days later this denim delight was in my little hands!

I paired it with an orange necklace and matching shoes to add a pop of colour.

Yes, pockets!!!!!!

I wore it on Sunday when the weather was warm and it kept me nice and cool all day. I love the short sleeves and the length is perfect so that I feel comfortable enough to wear without leggings.

I definitely feel like I am going to get a lot of wear out of this and for my first Simply Be purchase I am very happy!

Much Love

The Magnificent 7th

Sunday, 8 June 2014 | 1 comment

Hi!

'We will be posting on the 7th of each month, and the aim of the challenge is to create an outfit to fit the theme, using clothes from our wardrobes, and yes that does mean digging deep into the depths and finding those long lost clothes! Hopefully one of us won’t end up in Narnia, but you never know with a bloggers wardrobe!'

Replicate an outfit from your favourite celebrity

Lauren Conrads style is just right in my eyes, sleek, chic and classic.

I haven't replicated an exact outfit but I gone with the white shirt, jeans and statement bag like I have seen Lauren wear.
