Beauty | My Little Box

Hi!

Time for this months My Little Box post. I can't really call it a review as I haven't tried any of the products yet, I'm going to be taking all of the items on holiday with me so when I get back I will be doing a review of them.

For now, have a look at what was inside the May box!

There are some really lovely L'Occitane products in the box once again and the make up item was an eyeshadow crayon. At first it looks like just another brown but looking closer it's a gorgeous deep bronze colour.

So far I've been using these bags to hold my make up and other bits in my handbag. I think they will come in handy on holiday, in the morning when going for breakfast I can just pop my phone, keys and a bit of money in and also to keep any poolside essentials in.

I'm not sure if I'm going to use the thread to make a pattern on this bracelet, I quite like it as it is!

I absolutely adore the prints that come in the boxes. I have a little shelf that I put them on each month. The only item that I wasn't so keen on was the magnetic doll, I think I would have preferred some magnets with quotes on.

Despite the magnetic hiccup I'm still looking forward to the next box. I think the only way I would stop is if I got a box and disliked everything in it!

Much Love

Style | Scarlett & Jo Dress

Tuesday, 26 May 2015 | 1 comment

Hi

Back in March I made my way to Birmingham to meet some wonderful ladies for a PS blogger day out shopping!

It was an great day, I can't remember the last time I laughed so much whilst shopping and more importantly felt comfortable.

Picture taken by Kat

So, whilst we were in Evans we all decided to try on some Scarlett & Jo dresses. It's been a while since I tried any of their dresses since I did this review.

I knew when I saw this dress on Hollie from Pretty Big Butterflies that I would have to purchase it. The print and colour are stunning, something quite different to what I would normally go far.

Trying it on

Then I saw a tweet from Kat - A Curvy Cupcake saying that the dresses were on sale! I did a little happy dance when I saw this one was down to £20! I ordered a size 22 and 24 as I couldn't remember what size I tried on in Birmingham.

LOVE!!

I absolutely adore this dress. The way it fits makes me feel so good, I love the way it nips in at the waist and flares at the bottom. It's probably a little shorter than I like but I can forget about that as it's so lovely!

It also has small shoulder pads, I normally hate shoulder pads with a passion. I've had quite a few items with them in and always cut them out. They work on this dress though, they add to the shape of the dress in a very subtle way.

Unfortunately I couldn't see it on the website anymore but there were lots of other lovely dresses which you can take a peek at here!

Beauty | Bobbi Brown Swatches

Saturday, 23 May 2015 | 1 comment

 Hi!

A few months I wrote about my trip to the Bobbi Brown counter for a makeup lesson. I really wanted to learn a simple eye make up routine that I could try at the weekends. I knew I couldn't come away empty handed and plus it was my birthday so I had to treat myself to a few presents, right?!

These are all the items that I bought and below are swatches. So far I have used the gel liner, very easy to apply and stayed put all day. I got the liner in brown which I actually prefer to black.

This is my favourite product out of all the ones that I bought. It's a lovely gold shimmery shade which looks absolutely gorgeous in the sunshine. When a product says long wear I expect it to stay put pretty much all day and this did what it said. I had it on for around 6 hours and when I got home and took my makeup off it was there, still shimmering away!

Long Wear cream shadow stick - Golden Bronze

Lip Color - Blackberry

I haven't got round to wearing this again after trying it on at my makeup lesson. It is really dark brown so definitely more suitable for an evening look. It is really nice, I love it when I find a lipstick that is moisturising but will also stay put when I'm having lunch.

Gel Eyeliner - Brown

I've always worn black eyeliner so when it was suggested that I try a brown I didn't think it would look good but it did and I was pleasantly surprised! It's great for a subtle daytime look and doesn't show my mistakes like when I use black! I've used this quite a lot since purchasing and it's now one of my favourites, a definite re-purchase.

Lip Gloss - Aubergine

This lip gloss was used over the top of the lipstick when I had my lesson and I just fell in love with the colour. It looks like a deep rich purple in the tube but when I put it on it looks more brown and really suits my skin tone. It doesn't feel sticky either. I'm normally a fan of the lancome juicy tubes but I find that sometimes they can be quite sticky, this one felt so good on.

I'm really impressed with the items that I bought, yes, it was quite expensive for all the items but it was definitely worthwhile. If you do get a chance to have a make up lesson at the Bobbi Brown counter then I highly recommend it, all of the items here I would never have picked on my own so it was nice to have advice from someone else.

Have you tried any Bobbi Brown prodcuts?

Shop Your Stash | Books

Hi!

Back in the day before owning a home, having a super busy job and I was still a singleton, I used to read a lot - whilst eating my breakfast, on the bus to work, at lunchtime and then before bed. I classed reading as a hobby because it's what I done in my spare time (amongst other stuff, not a total book worm!).

This year I have set myself a target to read all the books in the picture below.

A few of the books here have been sat on my bookshelf for months, one I think over a year!

The first book I'm reading is Recipe for Scandal. It covers the lives of three woman all from the same family and then from what I have read at the back there are a few twists along the way, all is not what it seems! I'm only on the 2nd chapter so once I've finished I will be back with a review and let you know which book I will be reading next!

Can you recommend any good books to read?

Much Love

Style | Pretty Little Flowers

Hi!

I hope that I'm not the only one that does this, goes food shopping and then gets distracted by other shops and clothes!

Mr C and I went to do the usual food shop last Sunday morning, but on the way I decided to pop into Peacocks for a 'quick' look around.

Beautiful print and windswept hair!

One of the first things I saw was this gorgeous Kimono. It's one item of clothing that has always been a bit hit and miss for me, the majority of them that I have tried on just didn't suit me. This one however was love at first sight, the flower print is just so lovely and perfect for the coming summer days.

Kimono - Peacocks

Jeans - New Look
Shoes H&M (Old)

Here are some pictures of where we took the pictures at the weekend, lovely!

Not sure what I was doing here, a duck impression perhaps! Hee Hee!

Lifestyle | Shopping time

Saturday, 16 May 2015 | No comments

Hi!

I've been shopping over the last few weeks, not intentionally of course. I blame the weather which is forcing me to get out of the house and towards the shops ahem! This is what I tell Mr C anyway!

TK Maxx

This is one of my favourite shops, it's very rare that I go in here and come out empty handed. Mr C knows that if I ask him to take me there his hands will be full of bags!

Notebooks:

I've had an obsession with notebooks since I was young. I love writing lists or ideas and must always have a notebook in my handbag!

Succulent:

I wanted a plant to brighten up the window sill in our office and this caught my eye. It was £6.99 which I though was quite reasonable and its looks good!

Cup:

I'm not a fan of traditional pen holders so I like to look around for something different. I saw this Pantone cup for £1.99 and thought it would be perfect for all my pens.

Clothes:

I was super pleased to see some Junarose items in my local store. After purchasing a couple of dresses via ASOS from them I wanted a few more pieces to add to the collection. They will be on a blogpost soon so I won't go into to much detail here.

Radley

We were passing by Bicester Village so I asked Mr C if we could have a quick wander around, unfortunately it was quite late so we only went into Radley, it's my absolute favourite store there so I wasn't disappointed!

Luggage Tag:

I had been eyeing up all the gorgeous handbags and really wanted one another one to add to the collection, Radley bags are my favourite. But this time I was strong and resisted the temptation, especially as we are saving up to go on holiday. I really like cute luggage tags so got this one ready for when we go away!

Phone Case:

I haven't upgraded my phone yet so, whilst I still have my iPhone 5, I decided to get a new phone cover. This one is a really nice thick rubber material so I can get a good grip on it and not drop it down the toilet which is where my old phone went to!

Have you made any new purchases recently?

Fashion Fair | Feel like a million dollar bill!

Thursday, 14 May 2015 | No comments

Hi!

Back in February I entered a competition run by Fashion Fair on their Instagram, giving followers a chance to win the make up items used to create the wedding look in the Whitney Movie. All you had to do was tell Fashion Fair which Whitney Houston song was your favourite! I choose 'One moment in time', I love all of her songs but this one literally brings a tear to my eye when I hear it, and then I really cry when I try and hit the high notes and realise how awful my singing is!

I haven't got many products from Fashion Fair, just a foundation and an eyeliner so I was really excited to receive all these products. The colours are beautiful and also the packaging!

This lipstick is a new favourite, smooth on application and didn't dry out my lips and the colour, bright and beautiful is the only way I can describe it! One thing that I did notice when I opened the lipstick is the smell, it has a subtle coconut/cocoa butter scent to it which is lovely, I don't think that I have owned an lipstick that smells so good!
It did wear off when I ate some food but until that it lasted really well. I used a nude lipliner with it to stop any bleeding around my lips. This is one of those lipsticks that can work day or night which is ideal for me.

I haven't tried the eye shadows properly yet, I normally stick to dark browns and nude colours so these bronze shades are new to me which means I need to have a little play around. Once I have created look I'm happy with I'll be doing another post!

Swatches

Seduction Lipstick

Golden Chesnut - Eyeshadow

Touch of Gold - Eye shadow

Sahara Sand - Eyeshadow

Pearly Paprika -Blusher

Have you tried any Fashion Fair products?

Style | Falling in love again

Hi!

I don't know what happened over the last few weeks but I lost my blogging 'mojo'. I knew it was time to have a week or two off when I was just sat staring at the computer and didn't write anything in the 2 hours that I was sat there, so I took a break! I'm back though, I knew I wouldn't stay away for long. I love blogging, the shopping, the photos and also all the lovely people I've met whilst doing it - blogging has made me very happy! I'm also in the process of updating my blog design, it's by no means finished yet so please bear with me whilst I work on it!

Anyway, back to the important subject! I saw this dress in Peacocks just as we were about to leave and knew that I had try it on before I went out the door!

As soon as I tried it on I knew it would be coming home with me, it's beautiful and even Mr C agreed. There was only a size 20 left so I kept my fingers crossed when I tried it on but it fitted perfectly. I am wearing shape wear shorts underneath as the material is quite thin. There was plenty of room, I find that some of the peacocks clothes in a 20 are quite generous so I always make sure I try on anything that I like.

Dress - Peacocks
Shoes - Primark (Old)
Bangle - Car Boot
Lipstick - Mary Kay
