Outfit August - Flowers at Night

Saturday, 29 August 2015 | 1 comment

Hi!

For this outfit I asked Mr C to take me back to Bicester Village, it was on the way back from a BBQ we had been to and the lighting is good for night time photos!

I recently purchased this skirt from the Yours clothing sale. This summer I seem to be going through a floral phase and I really like it!

Hi!

Theme: Skirting Around The Issue

How do you style a skirt? Let's show the world how we rock them.
...

I recently purchased a couple of new skirts from Lindy Bop, I have plenty of dresses to wear or to be worn but I'm really into skirts at the moment so I thought why not order some new ones!

I styled this for an evening out and I love it. I will be doing a proper review of the skirt in the next couple of weeks but for now here are the OMCZ pictures!

Outfit August | My Favourite Kimono

Sunday, 23 August 2015 | 1 comment

Hi!

These are actually pictures from earlier on in the month but because I was so busy I didn't get a chance to post it, but, better late than never hey!

I absolutely love this kimono, it's still quite thin so it's comfortable to wear on warmer days but I'm pretty sure that I will be able to wear it in the cooler months too. I wore this to work as I feel it covers the smart casual code that we have.

Outfit August | A short evening

Friday, 21 August 2015 | 2 comments

Hi!

Trying to find nice shorts is something that I really struggle with. I have two pairs that I got a few years ago from George at Asda which are fab but they are really more for casual wear. I had been after a pair that I could take from day to night without spending too much.

I got this pair from New Look when they last had a sale, I think they were around £7. I believe they are sold out now but you can find similar here.

I wore this for a date night with Mr C and I must admit I felt pretty good!

Outfit August - A Casual Saturday

Wednesday, 19 August 2015 | 1 comment

Hi!

Last week Mr C and I went for a walk around Bicester Village, unfortunately it wasn't pay day so no purchases were made!

The grey clouds decided to make an appearance so I decided to bring out the jeans again, probably wasn't the best idea as even though it was cloudy it was quite humid - cue very hot legs!

Jacket - *Lovedrobe
T-Shirt - New Look (Old)
Jeans - Fashion World

Style | The Comfortable Maxi - Outfit August

Monday, 17 August 2015 | No comments

Hi!

I bought this skirt back in May from Primark. I had images of wearing it to dinner on holiday with my new shoes and some pretty jewels but of course that didn't happen due a few days of recovering from heatstroke, silly me!

The skirt is slightly too long but it's so comfortable that I overlook that small issue. I have a feeling that I will be getting a lot of wear out of this skirt not just in summer but also in the colder months as well, not bad for £8 hey!

Outfit August - Loving Lovedrobe

Monday, 10 August 2015 | 1 comment

Hi!

Finally I have my first outfit August post! The first week of August has been hectic so far, I have taken some outfit pictures and they will be up on the blog over the next week or two.

This is an outfit that I wore to work last week, some days I like to be smart casual and others just smart, this happened to be one of my smart days.

This *sleeveless waterfall jacket was the perfect addition to old items from my wardrobe to create a new outfit for work! I was worried that I would be too hot in it, our office is like an oven, no air con and breeze that couldn't blow a piece of paper, but, I stayed nice and cool all day. I'm wearing a size 22 here and this was a great fit, I left it open but could belt it up with ease. The length was just right as well,  hitting my knees, anything longer than that just swamps me.

Jacket - *Lovedrobe
Vest Top - New Look  (Old)
Skirt - New Look (Old)
Necklace -F21 (Old)

Then I saw some clouds and a spot of rain! I still wore my outfit anyway and the shoes came off for driving!

Style | From H & M

Hi!

After going round what seemed like every shop in town trying to find some holiday clothes for Mr C we stopped in H&M where I got distracted as per usual.

Now I know that H&M stock a plus size range but I don't think that much of it. I always look at the regular sizes as there are always one or two things that I find will fit me, mainly tops but that's fine as I have enough trousers and skirts to last a lifetime!

Mr C actually choose this top for me, it's not something that I would have chosen but when I put it on I really liked it. I paired it with some trousers from ASOS and some shoes from Primark. I wore this on the plane and it was the perfect outfit for 8 hours in the air.

Beauty | Holiday Beauty Buys

Thursday, 6 August 2015 | 1 comment

Hi

I had promised myself that I would only buy a duty free perfume on holiday and nothing else! This proved to be quite difficult when I walked into Cave Shepherd, a small dutyfree haven situated in Hastings.

The first thing I picked up were these Victoria Secrets Fragrance mists. I had seen them on many a YouTube haul and wanted a lighter fragrance choice for the summer.

Pure Seduction is my favourite out of all three, a combination of red plum and freesia it really does smell fruity and fresh without being overpowering. This will definitely be a go to day time scent for me.

Secret Charm is a mix of honeysuckle and jasmine and  is a slightly stronger scent, you can really smell the honeysuckle in it which makes it a perfect summertime scent.

Love Spell is a combination of cherry blossom and peach. I never really go for fruity scents but this is absolutely gorgeous, it's like I'm swimming in a pool full of peaches!

I knew that I would come away with at least one duty free perfume. The Carolina Herrera perfumes are my favourites, I already have 212 VIP, 212 SEXY and the original 212. I hadn't seen this 212 Rose in the UK so I had a quick sniff, loved it and swiftly made my way to the till! It does smell quite similar to the 212 Sexy so if you liked that then you will definitely be a fan of this.

I also picked up this Jergens daily moisturiser from the supermarket. I used it years ago after buying a bottle from the US but always struggled to find it in the UK, then it arrived here but now unfortunately it has been withdrawn from sale. I feel like the formula has changed slightly and is not as moisturising, however as I've got this super size bottle I will continue to use it over the summer months until I need something thicker for the winter.

I decided to pick up one of these Maybelline Electro Baby Lips.. The electro just refers to the colour of the balm, it's fluorescent yellow! The balm is nice and makes my lips soft but I don't think I would re-purchase.

Thanks for reading

Much Love

Beauty | My Little Box

Tuesday, 4 August 2015 | No comments

Hi!

This is my final My Little Box. I've really enjoyed receiving them each month but, with a wedding to save up for next year, any non-essential beauty items have to go on hold for awhile!

The theme of this months box was my little road trip. I wish I had received this one a few weeks earlier as it would have been ideal for my holiday!

Here is what was in my box:

A nice selection of beauty products in this box. I'm already a fan of the Garnier Micellar water so this will come in handy for holidays or weekends away. The Body lotion in the middle smells exactly like a sherbet dip dab! It's probably not something that I would use daily but perfect for something a little different at the weekend.

I've posted previously about how I wasn't a fan of the Essie nail polishes, the first one that I tried stained my nails even with a clear polish under it which kind of put me off. However, I wore this colour over a weekend and it stayed put and didn't stain! The colour is beautiful and perfect for the sunny weather

I adore the print in this months box so I'm going to get a frame for it and put it up somewhere in the house.

Even though I am cancelling my subscription, I would highly recommend My Little Box if you want to try a beauty box for the first time or are looking for something different.

Much Love

Lifestyle | My Holiday Diary - Barbados

Saturday, 1 August 2015 | 1 comment

Hi

Back in June Mr C and I went to Barbados. It wasn't just our annual trip away but a chance to show him the beautiful island that my family comes from! He also met my gran for the first time which was delightful, I love my gran and so wish she was closer so that I could see her more often. At 98 she is still going strong and had us in fits of laughter every time we saw her!

I'm not going to write too much, I think that I will let the pictures speak for themselves. I apologise for the not too great quality, I didn't fancy taking a big camera with me so I only took my Panasonic Lumix with me.

This dress from Peacocks is super comfortable, I was literally wearing it then washing it on repeat!

Some traditional Bajan food! Yum!

An hour after this was taken I was really ill with heatstroke! I made sure I drank plenty of water the next day!

Going for a romantic stroll on the beach. After this picture was taken there was a huge wave and we got soaked!

Going home. I'm not ashamed to admit I had a little cry on the way home, Barbados is so lovely and it was nice to see family. Until next time!

Much Love
