Style | Stripes, I love Stripes

Thursday, 28 April 2016 | 2 comments

Hi,
Picture heavy post!

I recently saw the lovely Callie from Corners Of The Curve wearing this t-shirt styled in the most amazing outfit and I loved how it looked! A few days later I went online and placed an order. One week later I collected the parcel from my local New Look store, I always tend to use this service to save on delivery charges! I had been searching for ages for a nice striped t-shirt and kept my fingers crossed that this would be the one!

This is random outfit that I put together and I LOVE it! We took the photos early one Sunday morning, the sun came out just as we driving to find a good spot. I can't tell you how happy I am that Spring is here, I feel so much calmer and relaxed seeing the sunshine, flowers blooming and the lighter evenings.

The T-Shirt fits true to size. I'm wearing a 24 and it fits perfectly. I've worn it quite a few times now and it washes well and hasn't lost it's shape at all. I can think of so many ways I can style it, that's something that I have been thinking more about since I had a good tidy up of my wardrobe.

T-Shirt - New Look
Skirt - Sainsburys
Shoes - Primark (old)

Feeling happy I've found the perfect striped t-shirt.

Are you enjoying the Spring weather so far?

Beauty | Korres Duo

Saturday, 23 April 2016 | No comments

Hi!

I've had a another switch up to my skincare routine again, just when I thought that I had one in place I find a couple of new products that I want to try! I've been using these products from Korres for a few weeks now.

I'd tried the wild rose cream early last year but only briefly as I had a small sample but I was impressed at how light it went it on and didn't leave my skin feeling greasy at all. This is a slightly bigger sample than the previous one but it should last me a few weeks, hopefully this will help me make up my mind as to whether I will purchase the full size version.

In addition to the cream I have also been using the dark spot corrector. I've been looking for something to help with some scarring left by a few spots on my face, previous attempts include the contents of vitamin E capsules rubbed on my skin to dabbing each blemish with lemon juice, yes, I really did that! This also goes on really easily, I only have to leave it for a minute before putting my foundation on. I'm not too keen on the scent, it doesn't smell like roses, a bit more clinical almost.

I think even after a few weeks it's still too early to tell if its made a difference to the scars but, I am going to persevere. The combination of both have already left my skin looking brighter, hopefully I will see an improvement in my scarring with continuous use of the corrector.

Have you tried any Korres products?

Much Love

Style | Mr C is back, back again!

Thursday, 21 April 2016 | No comments

Hi!

Mr C is back again with another outfit post. Over the last 6 months or so he's started to make small changes in his style, slowly drifting away from his usual weekend uniform of jeans, football shirt and hoodies.  I asked him if he wanted to do a few posts for the blog and he has always been happy to oblige.

I'm really enjoying watching his slow but steady transition into a more smart casual wardrobe, it was something that he wanted to do for awhile. Shopping trips now take twice as long and more than often it's now me that comes away empty handed!

Beauty | Forgotten Lush

Tuesday, 19 April 2016 | No comments

Hi!

Back in January we went to Nottingham for the weekend, as I don't have a Lush store that is close to me I took the opportunity to have a little stock up of a few items. I'm writing this now in March after forgetting about all the items! I didn't want to throw anything away therefore I am ploughing my way through them, I'm going to softer than cotton wool in a few weeks time!

One of the items I got was this body scrub bar. I had been after a new scrub for awhile now after reading about the dangers of the micro beads in many products, anything that I had that contained these have now been binned. This one contains granulated sugar in it so I was happy to add it to my shower routine. It's also has murumuru butter in, nope, I had never heard of it either! This definitely made a difference after I came out of the shower and dried off, my skin didn't feel so dry and sore like it normally does with other scrubs.

I used this on my arms first of all and went in a bit too hard! I don't know what I was thinking so, if you do use it start off with gentle movements, once I did that it felt really good. My skin had become so dry over the winter, it's time to get rid of the dry skin in preparation for summer. I'm going to try and use this at least once a week.

The smell reminds me of the entire contents of a Lush shop all rolled into one! It's quite strong but in a nice way. I also need to get a tub to put it in after using it as I left it on the side of the bath and it left a big orange patch, nothing that a bit flash couldn't fix!

You can purchase it online and in store for £5.99.

Style | My New Favourite Thing

Thursday, 14 April 2016 | 3 comments

Hi!

I LOVE STRIPES, yep, putting that in capitals because I love them! I don't care if they make my hips look wider or my butt look bigger, I'm still going to rock them!

I bought this dress a few weeks ago and have worn it so many times since then. It is very similar to this one (below) from Junarose except it has POCKETS!

Sorry for the capitals in the post but this makes me very happy. I've always had a thing about clothes with pockets ever since I was little, I remember when Woolworths had a pink skirt with pockets and I had to have it, going to school and styling it with my knee high socks, I thought I was so cool!

It's 100% cotton so it is super soft and comfortable. It's perfect for now with this mild spring weather (I'm writing this on a good weather day). It's also true to size, I'm wearing a 24 and its fits perfectly, not too tight or too baggy. I wore it for a day of shopping and when I got home I didn't want to take it off.

We stopped off at one of my favourite spots to take some photos. I feel like Spring is on its way now, yes!

Lifestyle - The Ideal Home Show

Saturday, 9 April 2016 | 4 comments

Hi!

Last week Mr C and I took a trip to the Ideal Home Show* in London at the Kensington Olympia. We love going to home shows, especially as we are currently redecorating our home. This is a very lengthy and stressful process, those of you that have been through this process will understand!

It was a beautiful day in London!

We arrived nice and early only to see a long queue in front of us, thankfully this quickly dissapered once they opened the doors. Once we were in we picked up a show guide and a goody bag. Next we visited the British Gas stand, I had my photo taken with Wilbur and then the guys explained how the new smart meters worked, armed with information to look at once we got home we headed off to grab a quick cake and coffee ready to start the day!

There was so much going on inside, I know that I won't get it all in this post but I will do my best to pick out my favourite bits! The super theatre had one of our favourite TV personalities on, George Clarke from Amazing Spaces. We love watching this show when it's on, unfortunately we didn't make it back in time to see a show as there was so many stalls to see.

We had a good look around downstairs and lusted over Smeg stoves, garden furniture and a doorbell with a wi-fi enabled camera built in, such a great idea. My eyes were then drawn to the garden stands, I now have lots of ideas for the garden, I just need many pounds to make it all a reality!

Upstairs there was artwork to purchase, one of our dreams to own a piece of original artwork but for now paintings from HomeSense will do.

After walking around for a bit we decided to find out if there were any free tables in the Greg Wallace restaurant. We saw the menu as soon as we got into the venue and were won over by the sound of pork, mash potato and salmon. The dining area was lovely and spacious, with the sun shining through the large windows it truly felt a beautiful spring day.

Lunch was very tasty, perhaps a little pricey for what it was but we still ate everything and halfway through we had visit from Greg Wallace himself, asking how our meal was! I gave him my best smile and hoped that I didn't have any curly kale stuck in my teeth!

After lunch we walked around some more before calling it a day around 12.45, it was starting to get really busy, so we decided to head out and find somewhere to go.

We took a leisurely stroll along Kensington High Street, window shopping and gasping at the London house prices in estate agents windows along the way. The weather was so gorgeous that we headed up towards Kensington Gardens, taking a quick break on a bench to people watch and soak up some very much needed vitamin D.  Then we walked up Bayswater Road and finally finished at Notting Hill Gate, stopping again for a quick Starbucks. We got slightly lost on the way back to Marylebone, but that's just part of the adventure!

Thank you to the guys at Talented Talkers for the tickets. I will have a short vlog going up soon showing more bits of our day!

Much Love
