Style | Confidence

Image
Hi!, I'd always envied anyone that was confident, not just in themselves but in general, whether it was their ability to talk to anyone anywhere, or in what they were, I would always wish that I could be like that. Growing up I was shy, not just a little bit but, extremely shy. I rarely spoke to anyone else outside of my little circle of family and a few friends, the thought of going anywhere alone made me feel physically sick. Mr C commented recently about how confident I looked in some photos that we had taken, in the 11 years we've been together he said that he'd noticed a huge improvement in not only how I am around other people but my body confidence especially. I said to him that he was right but, also (slightly) wrong. There are some days when I feel good, really good like in these pictures below. But with the good there is also the bad. I still have a lot of days when I dislike my body, not all of it but certain areas, some days I think my bum is too big,

Style | Loving Lovedrobe

Image
Hi! Its been a long time since I've worn an outfit that makes me feel so good. I've been guilty of wearing the same outfits on repeat, I do this quite a lot when I'm feeling tired and not my usual self. I wore trousers 3 days in a row the other week which is very unsual for me.  When Lovedrobe kindly gifted me this top it got me quite excited about my wardrobe again. I paired it with an old skirt from Tu at Sainsburys. It was the perfect smart casual pairing for a Saturday morning breakfast. I sized up to a 26 in this top as I wanted a loose comfortable fit but I could have easily gone for a 24 and got the same effect. My favourite part of the top is the lace detailing at the top. You can see my bra straps underneath (I don't own a strapless bra), but this doesn't bother me at all. The ruffle under the lace adds another element of texture to the top. I haven't got anything like this in my wardrobe so I'm excited to style it in different ways.

Style | The Breakfast Outfit

Image
Hi! Earlier this week I posted my review about our visit to the Hayloft Restaurant, you can read about it here . I wanted to post about my outfit but didn't want to make it too long so I thought that I would do a separate post! I've written so many times now about how I love Sainsburys clothes that you've probably had enough of me saying it! Anyway, I went in there a few weeks ago to buy a few bits of food and came out with a new skirt (as per usual). This was a last minute outfit that I threw together for breakfast and, as we had the camera with us, I asked Mr C to take a few pictures as I loved how it all came together! I wouldn't have usually put trainers with the skirt but I've seen a lot of people doing this recently and I love how it looks. Hi! I went for something casual but smart and comfortable for the drive up to Birmingham as I knew we would be going out for lunch once we'd got there. I bought this blazer from New Look a few weeks ago specifically for work. I'm still not sure if it's smart enough so, for the moment, I'm keeping it for weekend use. I'm also wearing my oversized white tee from ASOS, jeggings from Sainsburys and the latest addition to my trainer collection. I always get mine from ASOS as they have really nice ones on sale. Oh and it was perfect for travelling in, I slept for the entire journey! Style | ASOS Chinos

Hello! I finally thought that I would get back into wearing jeans and jeggings after having a period of not wanting to wear anything but dresses and skirts but, unfortunately the Sainsburys jeggings that I thought were perfect have let me down. They seem to have stretched so much that I spend 90% of my time battling to keep them up by my waist rather than down by my ankles! I decided to try a pair of chinos that I had spotted on ASOS during another browsing session, evening not lunchtime, not that it makes much difference!   I first ordered these in a size 22, recently I noticed that the sizing had gone a bit awry on ASOS so I decided to go down a size...bad idea, they got as far as mid thigh and that was it. A swift exchange and a size 24 and 26 were on their way to me.   Both sizes fit, the 26 are a tad too big but I thought that they were perfect for casual weekend look or the monthly bloated feeling, so I decided to keep them. The 24 fit true to size, not muc

Hi! I've been shopping...I keep saying to myself that I won't buy anymore clothes for awhile and then I see a blogger posting a cute outfit on Instagram and off I run to my laptop, debit card in hand and wondering how I'm going to fit anything else in my wardrobe! Is anyone else the same, please say yes!! I had seen a few people wearing items from the Dorothy Perkins plus size range and decided to go on online and have a see what other items were on there I'd been after a midi black skirt for awhile, I ordered a couple from ASOS and New Look Curves but none of them were right so back they went. I spotted this one on the DP website and decided to order it, they also had 24% off for 24 hours. So, I will get the negatives out the way first. It wasn't until after I ordered that I saw people saying that you need to size up, this is so true for this skirt. The waistband is super tight, it is a real struggle getting it over my thighs, the only way to m

Hi!   I found another item in my wardrobe to dust off and re-visit, this pale pink skirt. I purchased it from Hollies blog sale last year in order to bring a little colour to my wardrobe. When I first got it I was nervous about wearing it, light colours and me don't usually mix well together especially when I'm eating!    I put this outfit together based on memories of an outfit I had when I was younger, I had a lovely pale pink cotton skirt from Woolworths and a white t-shirt, wearing this with my knee high socks with bows I thought I was the bees knees! Now I'm an little bit older I've had to ditch the knee highs in favour of bare legs and these pointy pumps from Dorothy Perkins!   Cardigan - Gap (old) T-Shirt - Gap (old) Skirt - Dorothy Perkins (old) Shoes - Dorothy Perkins     It was cold when the sun went in!      Here comes the sun!     Much Love   Natalie   x

Style | Easy Like a Saturday

Image
Hi!   I've been trying to be more conscientious with my any new purchases for my wardrobe, clearing out four bags of clothes last month made me realise that I tend to impulse buy way too much. I see something nice, buy it and then only end up wearing it once or twice, then it gets put to the back of the wardrobe and forgotten about.      I knew when I bought this t-shirt that I would be able to style it many different ways. I've styled it with a gorgeous stripe skirt from Sainsburys which turned out to be one of my favourite outfits of 2016 so far. In this post I've styled it for more of a casual Saturday. I wanted a comfortable outfit for a recent weekend trip out and I definitely got it with this. I bought these ASOS Peg Trousers last year, I wanted something a bit smarter and more comfortable than jeans. They are so easy to wear and go with many different items, the only downside is that they come up quite big, I originally bought a 24 and then had t

Hi! I've been trying to find places inside the house to take pictures but it just isn't the same as the beautiful outdoors, I'm already missing the summer evenings, Autumn is beautiful but the 5pm darkness is just miserable isn't it? I just wanted to share this quick outfit I wore a week ago. I bought the dress online from F21, I have been looking for short sleeved black dress for awhile and this ticked all the boxes. It's perfect for the warm office and a quick casual weekend look. My only bugbear is that it has gone quite bobbly after 2 washes but, for £12 I can put up with that!   I also got this necklace, I think it goes quite nicely with the dress. And some new boots from New Look, they are so comfortable! Dress - F21 Leggings - Sainsburys Necklace - F21 Boots - New Look   Much Love   Natalie x

Lifestyle| A sunny sunday

Hi!   After being stuck in the office all week it's nice to get out and about at the weekend. One thing Mr C and I love doing is just driving and finding random places to visit, we discovered there are some really lovely places to see and not too far away either.                                                             Looking at new plants for the garden, I didn't come away empty handed! I'm wearing my coatigan from New Look, honestly until it gets really really hot I'm going to be wearing this non stop! I love this garden centre, they even allow their spaniels to roam around and the view is beautiful! Then we found this gorgeous scenery on the way home, I could have sat here for hours, it was so relaxing.   Much Love   Natalie   x
